Guitar Hero Tournament finds BV's Guitar Hero

Finals may be around the corner but that does not mean that students could not use a study break once in awhile. On Wednesday Resident Life and The Underground hosted the Guitar Hero II Tournament in Dows Conference Center to give students an opportunity to let off some steam. (0) comments

Professor Bethany Larson was recently cast in a small speaking role as a woman lost in a small town in the film Peacock currently being shot in Iowa. The film is being produced by Mandate Pictures and also stars Cillian Murphy and Ellen Page. On Tuesday, May 6, Larson spent the day filming her scene with Murphy. (0) comments

With the rising stress of finals we are fortunate to be closely surrounded by friends and peers. That is the idea driving this year's mental health month. Each year the Iowa Campaign for Mental Health Recovery recognizes May as Mental Health Month. According to Kathy Dorrf, the campaign coordinator, "Young adults ages 18-25 are almost twice as likely to suffer from a serious mental condition as the general population, yet they're the least likely to seek help for their illness. Finals week is never met by cheers, although it signals the end of the semester and/or school year, which is always a good thing. Instead of celebrating the culmination of a semester's work and achievements, the thought of final exams receive groans and teeth-gritting. (1) comment
