If you've ever walked down Main Street USA at Disney World's Magic Kingdom, you'll know there's a lot to take in, street performers, your favorite characters, and of course the legendary castle. This amazing park, just one of four at the happiest place on earth has so much more to offer and the students who went on the Extreme Theme Park Experience got a first hand look at not only the Disney parks but Universal Studios as well. Sophomore Dylan Miller came back from the trip with a new outlook on Disney.

"You learn a lot about the parks and like how they keep the customers coming back," Miller said.

Miller, along with ten other students learned the ins-and-outs of what makes the parks and Disney in general so successful. A highlight of the trip was going in the underground utilidors where the cast members travel and take breaks during their shifts.

"People that work there... they aren't employees, they are cast members," Miller explained.

As most students know, J-Term can be boring and drawn-out just sticking around campus.

"Sitting in a classroom for three hours a day gets kind of old. Going on a trip... it's just more exciting... a lot more to do in January," Miller said.

In Florida, the students meet with Professors Henry Hardt and Jerry Johnson at least once a day for an in-depth tour of one of the parks, after that the students were free to do as they wished. Miller and the other students enjoyed the freedom they had during the rest of the day

"It's a really fun experience, you know, you get to meet new people. You get to go to the parks and ride all of the rides!" Miller said.

While most would feel that the rides are by far the best part about the trip Miller believed the nights at the Pop Century resort were the best.

"The most memorable part was probably us hanging out in the hotel... just sitting in the room, playing cards, and goofing off."

Now that he's back on campus and has had time to let his experiences all sink in Miller says that he would definitely go back if he had the chance.
