The first stop for these eager travelers was Rome where they got to see things like the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and the Coliseum…just to name a few. One thing Willer noticed right away were the price tags, "It was very expensive. A pop, a 12 ounce pop would be 3 euro, which is like 5 American dollars!" explained Willer, "I took $1000 extra cash and I think I used every bit of it."
She used that money all the way from Pompey, Rome to the Mediterranean Sea to Florence, Italy. When the group arrived in Italy they got a little surprise. Besides the amazing attractions like the Leaning Tower of Pisa, they were introduced to crochettes. Willer explains it's where "…six people sleep in one room, and you don't have enough room to stand up turn around."
Besides odd sleeping conditions, expensive souvenirs, and lots of traveling on overnight trains, there were great things to see and experience. One of the most memorable things for Willer came when they arrived in Dachau, Germany "[I was] able to stand in places that Hitler was actually at." She said.
The group then took more trains from Germany to France and then to London. From London they took a plane to Dublin, Ireland. Willer said that her favorite stop…Dublin. She said that the land was very green, and it was very pretty!
Willer mentioned that the trip did cost a lot of money, but she said the money was completely worth it. "I would recommend it (the trip) to future students!" stated Willer.
